Organized Chaos

Entropy impacts a small group in such a way that balance is necessary for the group to effectively survive.  Groups need an equal amount of organization and chaos.  With new thoughts and energies spinning around a group it can be very easy to get off track and become stagnant or frozen.  However, if a group is not open to new ideas and is very strict that can be equally as destructive.  It's the happy medium between being over and under stimulated.  Staying on track while playing with tangent ideas can be beneficial, leading the group in a better or new direction, sparking more interest while remaining on topic.  The subject of entropy relies on feedback and open lines of communication.
Equifinality on the other hand endorses multiple directions, systems, roads etc. and they will all lead you to the same destination.  It is a more free spirited route giving individuals multiple choices to choose from depending on which route they wish to take or that works better for them.  Equifinality ultimately means that two different people or multiple different groups may accomplish the same goal(s) in so many completely different ways.  What works for some may not work for others, therefore, they partake in a different routine and still become successful.  People learn, grow, and change at different paces and times in their life, the great thing about equifinality is that it will always be available in all different shapes and sizes for group members and individuals.

  1. I like how you stated that entropy is needed to create balance within the group to thrive. I totally agree with you on that aspect. It definitely can be very easy to hit a wall and not be able to continue because of factors such as chaos, stress, miscommunication, etc. I also like what you said about equifinality allowing everyone within a group to work in their own way to get to the same result. I feel like usually this approach works, but sometimes it can create more conflict if there is a lack of communication. Usually though if there is good communication within the small group then problems can work themselves out.

  2. Hi Phoenix!

I agree with what you said about the importance of balance. I've been in groups for school projects where we struggled to get our assignment of the ground because no one was really willing to communicate or contribute ideas. But, like you alluded to, having a group of people that are willing to share ideas and think outside the box a little bit will help the group, as long as they focus and don't stray too much. And I really like what you said about equifinality. Everyone has their own niche, and it's great that there will always be a way for people or groups to accomplish a task.
